make Money Selling On Amazon

Bookmark and Share
It's been awhile since I have been back, but I have been busy with selling just about everything on Amazon. For one, I never new you could sell your own goods on Amazon. Once I found out, I had to go to it right away.

However, I wasn't as successful as someone I admired for years because of her success on ebay and now Amazon. My hero, has written a book that gives you the incentive to get going and tells you what has made her a successful seller at Amazon.

If you have things to sell, read her book and start making some money selling the things you have sitting around the house. It's a great second income that could lead to a nice first income after you get going.

Freelance Writers Giving Away Free Samples

Bookmark and Share
Have you been asked to write a 300 to 500-word sample of the potential clients choosing? Have you written the sample only to be told that they do not need you? If you think along the lines that others do, you could easily figure out that if this client has fifty people applying for the job, and they ask for a sample of their choosing from these fifty people, they will have enough articles to do whatever it is they have planned. It does not cost them anything because they told all of you that they did not like your writing.

One could easily ask for fifty articles, keep them and sell them in bunches of ten for PLR articles. Who is going to know the difference? No one will because even if you post the article online or try to sell it to another client, the PLR packages will have to be re-written anyway. The so called client that used the freelance writers could just need content for their blogs or websites. If you do not have Google Alerts on your articles, how will you know? You can wait a month or so and do a copyscape check to see if it is used anywhere else. Then that is an entirely new ballgame.

Instead of writing a new sample, use a sample that you already have or direct the potential client to a link where your work is displayed. It is not wise to supply a free sample to get any freelance writing job. Your work is valuable and so is your time. Give links to your work or a sample you already have in your portfolio.

Freelance Writer Needed Scams

Bookmark and Share
Freelance writer needed is a term used by many people looking for writers. However, it can also be used by those who are trying to get your email address. After they have it, they can refer you to a site where you pay to sign up and then they will let you see what jobs are available. This is the newest way to defraud people out of their email addresses lately. I for one have had enough of this one particular site doing this.

I use my time wisely to look for work and find it appalling to send out a cover letter with my interest in their writing position, only to have an email sent to me telling me to click this link and see what they have to offer. I click the link and the site wants me to pay money before I see the jobs. No thank you.

Then there are those advertising for freelance writers needed and they want you to sign up at a dating site to familiarize yourself with it. If I wanted to work that bad, I might think it was legit, but if you want to write and make money, signing up at a dating site is not the answer.

I hope that some day these places wake up and move on to the next work at home job such as transcriptionist or something other than the writing profession. What is your take on this experience? I know it has happened to all of us, because we all look for work.

Become a Productive Freelance Writer

Bookmark and Share
Many people advertise for a freelance writer needed, but they do not give you many details about the keywords or the topic. Giving quotes for these jobs can be harder to do. Many advertise that this is easy work with little to no research needed. It sounds like a dream job or is it your worst nightmare?

Learn from someone else's experience that there is no easy writing job if you do not know more information about what you will be writing. For instance, one potential client asks a writer to write twenty 500 words articles for $8 a piece, which if it is easy with little to no research needed, could be profitable.

Then the floor drops out. You get the list of keywords after accepting the job only to find out that the keywords are the hardest you have ever had and you know nothing about the subjects. For instance, graphic designer, wed developer and other technical words are part of the list. Your first response is shock and the second is to politely decline the assignment because you know nothing about this area.

Your third response is that you should have asked for a list of keywords before accepting the job in the first place so you could avoid having to decline after finding out what is needed. Never bid or price a job without knowing the niche or keywords. Just because you need money is no reason to write about or try to write about things that you are not familiar with or comfortable writing about.

You are only setting yourself up to fail and make less money for your time than what you thought. Pick and choose your jobs, but price them accordingly for the amount of time it will take to research and write. Freelance writing is not about throwing an article together and hoping it is good. It is about knowing what you are writing about and providing quality content.

How to Make Money as a Freelance Writer

Bookmark and Share
Freelance writers have various ways to make money working at home. There are clients that pay you to write web content and magazines that allow you to submit articles for publication in their magazines. The magazines may take a while to see any payment, but webmasters usually pay right away.

If you find someone that wants to use your services, you should never under estimate your worth. At Rent a Coder, you can bid on jobs against others. When bidding on these jobs and you want higher pay than what the buyer is offering, write in your bid that you can do so many articles for that price only. Explain that you have samples for their viewing to show why you charge a higher price. Your work is superior and original.

Many buyers will contact you for samples to see your work. They will also offer you what you want as far as price. Even though you are bidding on a job, you can still get the price you want. You just have to hold your ground and not agree to lower rates. Try it out and see how well this works.

Freelance Writer Rates and Your Content

Bookmark and Share
As a freelance writer, you have to keep some standards that can make you happy, but you also have to know when you are being paid to low for your content. Many web content writers are offering their services for a very low rate, which is bring down the rate for everyone. Whether you are starting out as a new freelance writer or you have some experience, you have to start asking for the pay that you deserve. Working for $3 for a 500 word article is degrading.

Your writing skills should be worth more than that. Minimum for a 500 word article should be $8 to $10. This amount is still very low. If you intend to make a living as a freelance writer, you must have pride in your work and ask for more than a penny or less a word. All this does is bring down the rate for all writers.

Take a minute to ask yourself how much you would like to make an hour and adjust your prices accordingly. You do not have to start out accepting low paying writing jobs because that is all you can find. If you stick to your guns and only write for a decent price, eventually webmasters will come around and see that no one will write for low rates. This can only help to increase the rates for a freelance writer.
